Further visits with Trading Standards

Following on from joint visits carried out two weeks ago, officers from the Croydon Town Centre Team, working alongside Trading Standards, conducted a further series of visits to different businesses across Croydon town centre today.

During the operation, officers carried out IMEI checks on second-hand mobile phones to identify any devices that may have been reported as stolen.

As a result of the visits, numerous mobile phones were checked against national databases, crime prevention advice and posters were provided to business owners, and Trading Standards officers seized several thousand pounds' worth of counterfeit goods, along with a quantity of illegal vape products.

These proactive visits form part of our ongoing efforts to tackle criminality, protect consumers, and ensure businesses operate within the law. We will continue working with partner agencies to keep Croydon town centre safe for residents, visitors, and legitimate businesses.
